At Pacific Interventionalists we work alongside Oncologists by providing patients with state-of-the-art venous access. While a port-a-cath was once just used for chemo-infusion, newer ports withstand much higher infusion pressures, allowing CT scans and MRI scans to be performed directly through the Power Port © without the need for a peripheral IV.
Venous Access is often considered a small part of the overall care of the Oncology patient. However, at Pacific Interventionalists, we know that by using state-of-the-art technology in Venous Access, even this seemingly small portion of the oncology patients care can be substantially improved.
- New "Power Ports©" alleviate the cumbersome and difficult task of finding an IV site on every new admission for every new study helping to avoid future frustrations and delays in patient care
- We perform port placements within 24 hours of the request (some HMO/PPO's withstanding)
- Ports are often placed with local anesthetic only (patient permitting) and is typically a 15 minute procedure
